  4. Samples are sent to a laboratory partner for analysis

  5. Results are delivered according to laboratory processing timelines via Email.

How to Prepare

  • Avoid eating, drinking, smoking, or chewing gum for at least 30 minutes before your appointment

  • Bring all participants who will be tested

  • Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian

NON-INVASIVE PRENATAL PATERNITY (NIPP)

Eligibility for Non-Invasive Prenatal Paternity (NIPP) Testing:

Non-Invasive Prenatal Paternity (NIPP) testing is a DNA test performed during pregnancy using a blood sample from the expectant mother and a cheek swab from the alleged father(s). This test analyzes fetal DNA circulating in the mother’s bloodstream.

NIPP testing is available only to eligible clients and requires screening prior to testing.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for NIPP testing, the following criteria must be met:

  • The expectant mother must be at least 7 weeks pregnant at the time of collection

  • Pregnancy must be a singleton pregnancy (no multiples)

  • The expectant mother must not have received a blood transfusion, bone marrow transplant, or stem cell therapy within the last 12 months

  • All alleged fathers must be available to provide a DNA sample

  • Valid photo identification is required for participants

  • Eligibility requirements are determined by laboratory guidelines.

What NIPP Testing Is Used For:

NIPP testing is used for personal knowledge only and is not admissible in court unless performed as a legal test following chain-of-custody requirements.

Booking & Screening Process

NIPP testing appointments are not automatically confirmed until eligibility has been reviewed.

After submitting a booking request:

  1. An eligibility screening form will be reviewed

  2. Appointment confirmation will be issued if criteria are met

  3. Payment details will be provided following confirmation

If eligibility requirements are not met, testing may be postponed or declined.
